Welcome at Oppieberg. The camp / conference facilities are situated in the Magalies Mountains, close to Rustenburg and about one hours drive from Pretoria or Krugersdorp.

We welcome Church, Cell, Family, Adventure and Corporate groups. Oppieberg offers self catering facilities and has the following:

140 Beds, 2 Well equipt kitchens , 3 Halls, Big swimmingpool, "Foefieslide", Rock climbing, Absailing, Volleyball, Hiking trails, Beautiful nature


Oppieberg is a quaint, beautiful, approximately 85 hectare bushveld farm in the Magalies mountains near Rustenburg, equipped with two camp facilities. Jerusalem is one of the camp facilities which contains 100 single beds. Elim is the other facility with 34 beds. These facilities are used by churches, schools and a variety of adult groups as well as disadvantaged groups who are not able to afford similar facilities. Oppieberg is a place where the Lord is served. Our focus is to create an opportunity for individuals as well as groups to relax while meeting the Lord or strengthening their faith – regardless of their financial position. We welcome all groups, but groups such as street children, orphanages, troubled teens often need to be accommodated free of charge.


Improvements

Oppieberg Company and the Northern Synod of the Dutch Reformed Church have since 2009 made approximately R1.2 million available for critical improvements to the facilities and property. The following have been upgraded:

  • The swimming pool has been repaired and a safety fence installed around it,
  •  The faulty sewerage system has been replaced, Due to the faulty sewerage system changes were necessary to the existing buildings; modernisation on the buildings was started at the same time,
  • Boundary fences to neighbouring farms have been repaired,
  • A fire prevention and rescue system have been implemented,
  • Water pressure has been improved due to better system installations,
  • Gardens have been beautified,
  • Rooms, beds and ablution facilities have been renovated as part of the modernisation project; 100 new mattresses have been bought,
  • Kitchens have been upgraded,
  • Walking trails have been designed,
  • Tractors ease the upkeep and tidiness of the property,
  • Electricity wiring has been redone,
  • Doors, floors and roofs have been renovated and replaced.

The Oppieberg company is registered as a non-profit organisation. The exclusive aim of the directors is to ensure that the property will be utilised to the honour of God by congregations as well as the public.

Conference

Two halls are available with a big stoep surrounding the big hall. The view is spectecular


Rooms

This complex offers a 3 bedroom flat and 19 rooms. Each room has 3 double bunk beds.


Bathrooms

Each one of the 5 bathrooms is modern and consist of 2 showers, 3 toilets and 3 basins.


Kitchen

The kitchen is fully equipt and have two fridges, a freezer and a three plate gas burner.

Conference

This hall is suitable for lectures and receptions and is adjacent to the kitchen. 


Rooms

Elim offers 8 rooms with 4 beds each. There is also a flat with 2 bedrooms, two bathrooms, private lapa with private braai area.


Bathrooms

The ablution block consists of showers, toilets and basins.


Kitchen

The kitchen is fully equipt with a gas stove, gas burners and a double door fridge.

Oppieberg is situated between Rustenburg and Mooinooi, about 24km from Rustenburg and 14km from Buffelspoort Resort (Mooinooi)

From Rustenburg

  • Take the N4 towards Pretoria. 
  • Take the Kroondal offramp and turn right on the bridge on the Old Pretoria road (R104). 
  • Follow the R104 for 5km. Turn right towards Rex (Boards will indicate Sparkling Waters and Canopy Tours). 
  • Follow this road for 2.5km and turn left at the stop street on the Kromriver road. (Boards will indicate Sparkling Waters and Canopy Tours). 
  • Follow the road for 7km and after a strong incline up the mountain, the entrance to Oppieberg will be indicated on the left by two boards and a silver farm gate.

From Pretoria

  • Take the N4 tollroad passing Brits. 
  • Take the "Buffelspoort/Marikana" offramp and turn left on the bridge. 
  • Follow the road for 700m up to the T-junction. Turn right on the R104 towards Rustenburg for 1km, passing the entrance of Buffelspoort Resort. 
  • At the 3-way stop, turn left and follow the road for 14km. The entrance to
  • Oppieberg will be indicated on the right hand side by two boards and a silver farm gate. 

From Western Suburbs of Johannesburg

  • Take the R24 through Magaliesburg and follow the road for 47km from Magaliesburg. 
  • After passing the Olifantsnek dam, turn right at the 3 way stop at Rex. Follow the Sparkling Waters and Canopy Tours boards. 
  • After 10km turn right on the Kromriver road (3-way stop). 
  • Follow the road for 7km and after a strong incline up the mountain, the entrance to Oppieberg will be indicated on the left by two boards and a silver farm gate.
